Hook and Ladder The Tillerman

Russian River Valley Red Wine Blend 2015

SPECIAL FALL PRICING $16.99 🍇Winemaker Notes In fire-fighting parlance, a “tillerman” steers the back of a hook & ladder truck. Our founder, Cecil De Loach, held this position in the San Francisco Fire Department. 🍷The Tillerman red blend exhibits a deep purple, with notes of ripe wild berries, black cherry, and baking spices on the nose. Layered flavors of black currant and raspberry lead to a long finish of spice and dusty cocoa. 🍇Blend: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Sangiovese, 16% Cabernet Franc, and 16% Merlot.

Founder Cecil De Loach named this new project for his first career, as a San Francisco fireman.

De Loach has been farming Russian River Chardonnay for over 30 years. Today, his son carries on the great tradition with this perfectly balanced medium bodied, bright and creamy effort.

🍇Juicy, ripe and supple, it's also unusually affordable for Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

🍷Lovely fresh lemon, soft yellow apple, and a touch of pineapple combine with a hint of citrus blossom and farm fresh cream with a hint of toast.

🍷Round and silky on the palate with bright acidity and a bright, lingering finish.

Casa Castillo

Las Gravas Jumilla

2015 FALL SALE $24.99 🍇 Las Gravas comes from a profoundly rocky, single vineyard of the same name. Hand-harvested and fermented in underground stone tanks with manual pigeage. Aged in 500 liter French oak demi-muids for 18 months. 🍷94 Points-Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2015 Las Gravas is a classic Mediterranean blend of Monastrell with 15% each Garnacha and Syrah, with 15% alcohol after fermenting with part of full clusters and indigenous grapes and aging in used oak barrels for 19 months. 🍾2015 is the last vintage that Las Gravas has some Syrah, as it adds some sweet fruit he wants to avoid. However, it shows fresh within the balsamic profile, with plenty of rosemary and thyme notes combined with floral undertones and the character of the esparto grass and tree bark that are textbook descriptors of the variety.

Ben Marco

2016 SPECIAL PRICING $31.99 🍇Winemaker Notes BenMarco Expresivo, is a wine with deep, bright ruby color. It has chalk, earthy, floral, peppercorn tree fruits notes. It is a vertical wine with ultra-fine grained tannins, long after taste and great aging potential. 🍷Wine Enthusiast 93 Points Blackberry and black currant aromas are not overtly oaky despite there being a touch of smoke to the nose. A flush, lush palate is pulpy and cut by lemony oak, while this tastes largely of blackberry, cassis and plum. 🍷Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 93 Points There is great purity in the 2016 BenMarco Expresivo. It's floral, ethereal, fresh and complex, and it's still very young and lively in a way that I really like. This year the blend is 75% Malbec and 25% Cabernet Franc, with all the wild herbs and flowers from Gualtallary. It has a vibrant palate, with the varieties nicely integrated and complementing each other. 🍷Wilfred Wong of Wine.com 91 Points This wine is as its name implies, "expressive." Its aromas and flavors of lively black fruit and attractive dried earth stay generous on the wine's palate. Pair it with oven-baked short ribs and have a great time.

🍇The nose is autumn like with notes of candied chestnut, honey, praline and roasted hazelnuts. 🍷On the palate, warm autumnal flavors of roasted apricots, dates and figs. 🍾With an average rating of 91.8 points among 65 wine reviews, this wine shows exceptional aging potential.

Yes, we do have Sake!

Wandering Poet

Momo Kawa

the label we can't read or pronounce,

so please don't ask us to even try

Sake is not a rice wine. It isn't wine at all. Instead of using yeast for fermentation as with traditional wines, starch is used, which places Sake in a category all of its own.

Sake predates modern history. It’s exact origins are unclear, but we do know the nihonshu recipe of fermented rice was used as early as 500BC.

The cup used to drink Sake from is called a tokkuri.

Pair Sake with fish, rib-eye steak, vegetable dishes -and remember, always pour your guests a glass before you pour your own- as per Japanese custom.

The Japanese holiday, Sake Day is on October 1st, but you can still enjoy Sake every other day of the year.

👻🎃🦇Happy Halloween to all of our customers👻🎃🦇
