🍷New Wines Just In🍷

🍇Winemaker Notes🍇

High summer temperatures define this vintage. After a mild winter with very little rainfall, spring began with a great deal of rain, which provided favourable conditions for the growth cycle of the vines. During the summer, they experienced very high temperatures and the absence of rain, which resulted in very healthy vines. As a general result, this was a balanced year, where the final absence of rains led to a good concentration of grapes. This year is noted for a vintage with volume that can be enjoyed as a young wine.

A spicy red with dried herbs, blackcurrants and dark plums. Finely crafted on the palate, which is medium-to full-bodied and rolls over layers of blue fruit, laced between bright acidity.

🍇Winemaker Notes🍇

Don’t let the pale color fool you, this is a substantial wine. Aromas of red fruits and spice complement undertones of cranberries, wild berries, and plums. On the palate, ripe tannins and substantial body make for an incredibly rich, yet easygoing red wine.

🥩Food Pairing🐏

Pair this wine with sausage, spicy curry sauces, hot soppressata, and tandoori chicken.

🍇Winemaker Notes🍇

The Estate Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our vineyards in Alexander Valley and McDowell Valley. Harvested in late September and early October and fermented for three weeks at temperatures in the 70s, these grapes yielded deep, intense wine that conveys a taut freshness with great aromatic purity. Balanced between modern California and Old World, this wine is dense with buckets of black currant and cherry that are tempered with a dusty herbaceous quality. Built to age and best with food.

Blend: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec, 5% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot

Saturated with opulent black-fruit flavors and moderately tannic, this wine is big but polished and complex. It shows little obvious oakiness, but rather feels shaped by oak aging until it was velvety and firm.

🥩Food Pairing🐏

Enjoyable now with something roasted or braised, this wine will drink best after 2022.

🍇Winemaker Notes🍇

We practice agriculture “raisonée” in all of vineyards, only treating our vines where absolutely necessary, in order to maximize the terroir (clay-limestone) characteristics of our wines. We use organic compost which is only applied when soil deficiencies are revealed, following analysis of the soil and vine vegetation. When climatic conditions dictate we use organically permitted treatments (sulphur and copper) to protect the vines from mildew and oidium. The grapes are harvested by hand and with the best grapes selected on a sorting table in the vineyard.

🍇Winemaker Notes🍇

The season 2012-2013 was very unique. The weather changes were positive in every aspect for the vineyard. The grapes were healthy, fresh and fruity with very balanced tannins.

Finis Terrae 2013 presents an intense and deep red bright color. It´s aromas are intense, reminding us to red berries, leather, liquor candy and toasted vanilla. The mouthfeel is thick and gentle, tannins are round and very present, it´s balanced with a very rich acidity which makes us enjoy a very long experience.
